Last night xyz and y along with a few more from work were going out for drinks. I don't drink so said, 'no' when xyz asked me to join. But then felt bad about not being a sport. So I decided to join them. Everyone ordered "drinks" I ordered a pop! And it was all downhill from there...after 4-5 drinks the guys (I was the only woman) were talking loud and talking about things that I didn't particularly care for. The only good thing was it was an out door bar in the heart of downtown, among beautiful buildings, perfect weather.
I must admit I am a bore. I don't like going out, I don't like crowds, and just make it difficult for others to enjoy by not participating in conversations, in drinks or food (non-veg food).
I am comfortable with (family and close friends), listening to music, reading a book, watching a movie, walking in rain. Just being without wanting to impress with cars, homes, iphones, etc...I am born in the wrong century and living in the wrong country.

Blimey, you and I would get on well, Vi! But you are a bit far away from me... :(
It's the same almost everywhere these days. People trying to flash those latest gadgets and stuff like that.
I've had my own share problems. I spoiled drinking parties coz I'm pure veggie and with 'purists' I can't get along coz of my smoking. All in all even I hate crowds .. hota hai Vi..
Did you read about Kiran Bedi? She has alleged that she missed out on a promotion as she doesn't enjoy 'booze buddies' like the menfolk.
I've always been antisocial!:o Pity you are far far away:)
Hi Monica,
Nice to see (read?) you here. Yeah too bad :)
Aria,
I guess it is.
Its always an effort for me to enjoy my self in social settings :(
I totally understand, th kiran bedi part because after a certain level its not your capability that matters but your networking skills.
Duhita!!!
Finally you decided to sign up for blogspot. Yeah me too...yes its a pity that all my blog buddies are so far away :(
Vi
I see only girls talking about the poor men.
In defense of the men, we do talk interesting things like about cricket, girls politics, girls, movies, girls, gadgets, girls, office, girls, cars milage, girls and so many interesting topics. :)
On the lighter side, I too enjoy the company of friends in a comfortable environment like home. Maybe watch a good comedy with friends at home. In restaurants, I have to be civil. Quite difficult

>> I am born in the wrong century and living in the wrong country.
*grinning* you echoed my sentiments. I might aswell add, I was born in the right country but in wrong city. I wish I was born in some village or a small town. My aspirations and temperament are much more suited for that kind of (slow) life.
Yes Punds exactly it was mostly about girls, and cars and careers and brands and girls and :))
Parikarma,
Yes a house in a quite country side (but with internet access) sounds dreamy!

tell me about it: being an outcast, I mean. fortunately though, the crowd I have to socialize with is more interesting than this (punds crowd :D. what man, girls, cars, gadgets... such a stereotype crowd!). but one thing I've learned over the years is that, one's gotta live inside ... it doesn't matter where i am, I live in my head, have a few threads going on there, to beat the monotony, boredom.
